Though I am a non-graduating senior this semester, I realize that I am in the twilight of my academic career at CUC. Though I can’t say for certain what time will hold for me in the future, I can look back upon what time held for me in the past. And when I do so I come to realize on my own terms that the details are indeed in the people.
I found this nugget of sagely wisdom particularly pertinent after being informed by classmate Aaron Wilson about the passing of former CUC student Jon Cadavero. I realized at that point that it wasn’t the classes that I took with Jon or the times we spent in the math lab studying for our Probability and Statistics tests that really mattered. What I remembered most were the frequent conversations about his fervor for the military (including some of the military related literature he was reading at any given time), work, women, sports, and dogs. It is memories like these that make my years at CUC a memorable period in my life.
